Nelson Mandela University and the University of Nairobi
An initiative of the Centre for Law in Action resulted in the conclusion of a Memorandum of Understanding between the The Nelson Mandela University and the University of Nairobi. The universities will collaborate in the fight against organised crime in the fisheries environment. In terms of the memorandum, the Centre for Law in Action will share its Short Learning Programmes with the UoN and train its educators to offer the programmes. The activities form part of the FishFORCE project that has as one of its aims the training of a variety of officials, such as fisheries control, revenue and labour officials and policing and prosecuting authorities in various countries in the Indian Ocean rim to increase their effectiveness in the enforcement of fisheries law enforcement.
