Friday 11 May 2018 and Saturday 12 May 2018 was that time of the year yet again where the Nelson Mandela University held its annual Open Day, the first ever Open Day under the new University’s name. This year’s Open Day was held at the Missionvale Campus Indoor Sports Centre for learners from all over Port Elizabeth and surrounding areas.

The Open Day targeted grade 11 and 12 learners, their parents and educators, as well as the public in general. The Open Day took the form of an exhibition, providing stalls for each of the University’s faculties, schools and departments. These stalls showcased programmes these entities offer. It gave learners, prospective students, parents and educators the opportunity to get clarification on possible study choices and career opportunities. The most exciting part was that guests got an opportunity to meet and interact with lecturers and staff from all the University faculties, schools and departments.
