You are hereby cordially invited to the launch of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime's E4J Grants Programme for Higher Education Institutions “Inspire.Change.Together”, of which Nelson Mandela University is one of only four recipients worldwide.

The launch will take place on Thursday, 12 November from 16:00 - 18:00 South African time. The purpose of the programme is to present a framework for discussing the role of higher education in promoting justice and the rule of law and for the winners of the E4J Grants Programme to share their thoughts on how higher education can contribute to the achievement of the SDGs through teaching and empowering the next generation. 

This is in support of the UN Secretary-General’s Call for a Decade of Action stressing the importance to include all sectors of society to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, this undertaking aims to involve a broad range of stakeholders in supporting efforts to achieve the SDGs. Prof Hennie Van As, Department of Public Law, Director of the Centre for Law in Action and FishFORCE Fisheries Law Enforcement Academy, will be one of the guest speakers.
