The Faculty of Law Ubuntu Community Outreach Programme has been in existence since 2012. During this time, it has taken on various projects, such as school outreach programmes, Christmas parties for the elderly in the Northern Areas and a soup kitchen at the Provincial Hospital Clinic.

Currently our focus is on our hungry students on campus. The weekly pop-up coffee bar will be open every Monday from 12:30 - 13:30 in the foyer of the faculty of law on the first floor Embizweni. We are grateful to the BLA and the LSS for their help with this project. We have peanut butter sandwiches, tea, and coffee available.  The service is dependent on the stock available for the day.

The coffee bar is a volunteer project in the faculty and is funded from donations. If you are privileged not to be hungry and would like to become involved or know of other persons or entities that will support the project, please do not hesitate to email us at deanoflaw@mandela.ac.za. Donations (cash, peanut butter, margarine, loaves of bread) can be dropped off at the faculty. We would also like donations of toiletries (deodorant, soap, sanitary pads) that we can distribute to our students in need.
